Erik Asgeirsson

Erik Asgeirsson is a technology industry veteran with expertise in cloud computing , e-commerce and business expansion. He has led CPA.com, the technology subsidiary of the American Institute of CPAs, since 2002.

During Erik's tenure, CPA.com has posted strong financial results and added several new lines of business, including a package of leading, cloud-based software solutions that help transform client services for accounting firms. In addition, CPABiz.com has become the leading e-commerce site for the CPA profession and one of the top 500 online stores, as ranked by Internet Retailer.

Erik believes the rise of always-available data through the cloud, coupled with the maturing capabilities of smartphones and other mobile devices, represents a significant opportunity for small- and medium-sized firms to improve client service and boost profits. It's an approach he embraces for his own business, as CPA.com uses the same programs it offers to CPA firms to automate payroll, billing, tax and accounting workflows. 

Erik is regularly listed in Accounting Today's annual Top 100 Most Influential People in the CPA Profession, and is a member of the DigitalNow Advisory Group, which counsels association leaders on opportunities in the digital age.

Before joining CPA.com, Erik held a variety of senior positions at AT&T in sales, product management and operations. Erik holds an MBA from The New York University Stern School of Business and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from George Washington University. Early in his career, he served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Tanzania.

He lives in Rye, N.Y., with his wife and three daughters. In his spare time, Erik is an enthusiastic sailor and skier.

James C. Bourke, Jr., CPA, CITP, is a Shareholder and Director at WithumSmith+Brown. Mr. Bourke is currently the President of the NJSCPA. He has served on the NJCPA Board of Trustees as secretary, as a member of the NJSCPA Litigation Services, Legal Profession Liaison and Committee Operations committees and as chairperson of the Chapter Operations Committee. Mr Bourke has served as president, vice president, secretary treasurer and director of the NJSCPA Monmouth-Ocean Chapter and also served as chairperson for various Monmouth/Ocean Chapter committees. In addition, he serves on the AICPA's CITP Credential Committee and is the current chair of their State Society Reach Out Committee. He is an active board member of the New Jersey Technology Council and serves on the advisory council of a regional bank. Mr Bourke is a frequent author on CPA firm technology issues for our industry's trade publications and speaks at many state society conferences and seminars throughout the country on topics or current technology trends in CPA firms, as well as the specific technologies effecting our profession. Bourke earned his B.S. in Accounting from Kean University.

Bob is a recent past President of the National Conference of CPA Practitioners and served as Chair of the Issues Committee.  Bob recently completed a term as a member of the AICPA Council.  Currently, Bob is a member of the New York State Board of Accountancy with a term ending on October 31, 2016.  He was included in Accounting Today's listing of the 100 Most Influential People in Accounting for two years.  Bob is a certified financial planner, a certified fraud examiner, and a Principal at Janover, LLC.  He was recently recognized as "Businessperson of the Year" for his service while president of the Great Neck Chamber of Commerce.  Bob was Tax Manager with Price Waterhouse and then headed his own firm before becoming the Managing Partner in the firm Schoenfeld Mendelsohn Goldfarb, LLP. Bob recently merged into Janover, LLC. Bob is a Diplomat of the American Board of Forensic Examiners, Diplomat of the American Board of Forensic Accounting, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Author of six books, Bob holds degrees from Hofstra University, Pace University and Adelphi University, where he served over 20 years as a senior adjunct professor.  Bob has raised over $30,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society by participating in triathlons and over $15,000 on bicycle rides from Boston to New York for Aids Research.  He recently completed an Iron Distance Triathlon in Sandusky, Ohio. Bob resides with wife Linda in East Meadow, New York.




Daniel Hood

A graduate of Georgetown University, he has also served as a business editor for the New York Daily News, and as a production editor for The Wall Street Journal Europe. He is the author of five novels and a guidebook to New York City.

Sandra Johnson is CEO of Sandra G. Johnson, CPA, P.C. located in Bellmore, New York. A sole practitioner with four employees, her business focuses on individuals, nonprofits and the unique needs of small businesses.

Sandy is the current President of the National Conference of CPA Practitioners (ncCPAp) and a frequent lecturer on MAP-related topics. She is a member of NYSSCPA and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Sandy is past president of both the Long Island Center for Business and Professional Women and the Chamber of Commerce of the Bellmores. Sandy recently retired from teaching, having taught Accounting and Business Management at SUNY Old Westbury and Five Towns College. She lectures on various business topics at Hofstra University’s Continuing Education College, the Small Business Development Center at SUNY Farmingdale and at various local clubs and organizations.

Sandy is a Certified Public Accountant, licensed in the state of New York, an Enrolled Agent with the Internal Revenue Service and a Certified Fraud Examiner. She is the 2010 recipient of the Town of Hempstead Pathfinder Award in Business; 2010 recipient of the NYS Assembly Women of Distinction Award; 2010, 2011 and 2012 winner of the LI Press Best of LI contest in the Accounting Firms and CPA categories; and the 2007 recipient of the Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce Small Businessperson of the Year award.

Samantha Mansfield has nearly 15 years experience in the tax and accounting technology industry. She has led onsite and web-based workshops, trainings, consulting and software demonstrations. Samantha has worked with a variety of firms, from sole practitioners to top 100 firms nationwide. Her focus is to give attendees actionable items during the session, and engage the audience throughout the presentation.

Since 2004 Samantha has traveled the nation extensively sharing technology strategies with practitioners and consistently receiving top ratings. Her passion is helping practitioners leverage relevant technology to grow their business.

Samantha has a Bachelor’s of Business Administration/Marketing from Hillsdale College. For over a decade she served as a consultant and trainer. She is currently is building the digital CPA curriculum for CPA.com, an AICPA Company, in her role as Senior Manager of Corporate Communications and Program Development.
